GRAIN CLEANERS

PETKUS Type K Seed Cleaners are optionally equipped with or without an indented cylinder (trieur). The K-series stands for robust and reliable cleaning machines, which are the best choice for smaller capacities of industrial cleaning or seed cleaning of grain, oilseeds, pulses, grass and vegetable seeds. The high standard of cleaning is achieved by a combination of several cleaning processes (the screening system, the air aspiration system, and the indented cylinder).

The product is moved from the inlet hopper through the pre-aspiration duct where light rejects, husk and dust are separated. Afterwards, the product is transported to the screen compartment. The top screen separates large and coarse rejects and is cleaned by means of a screen agitator. Light rejects are separated by the bottom screen and a brush carriage cleans the bottom screen. The screened product is transported through the final aspiration duct where further light rejects with a lower density are separated by the air flow. The cleaned product is transported to the indented cylinders where short rejects such as broken grains and round weed seeds are rejected. The cleaned seed is then moved to the bagging devices on the indented cylinder and can be bagged-off here.

GRAIN DRYING

PETKUS Continuous Flow Dryers Type DD are designed for drying grain, corn, oilseeds, and free flowing pellets such as clay minerals and straw pellets. Three models (1500, 2500, 4000) with capacities from 8 t/h to 70 t/h (based on wheat and 4% dehydration) are available. The "DD"-series continuous flow dryers use direct heating from oil or gas surface burners.

Product enters the top of the dryer column and flows to the discharge over conical, inverted V-shaped air ducts arranged in an alternating pattern. During the process the product is continuously mixed and the hot air from the burner is evenly distributed through the product. The required airflow is generated by axial flow fans, positioned on the roof of the exhaust air duct. The air speed can be adjusted using a false air flap within the dryer column. Louver dampers behind the axial flow fans close during emptying and prevent the discharge of dust into the exhaust air.

GRAIN STORAGE SILOS

PETKUS Round Silos are practical for all types of grain, oilseeds, feed and industrial pellets. They consist of corrugated galvanized sheet steel which undergoes the Sendzimir process Z600 to provide high corrosion protection. The modular design of the round silos allows heights from 1 to 25 m and diameters from 3 to 32 m. The specifications of PETKUS steel round silos are calculated according to the product loads of ANSI/ASAE or EURO CODE. The construction is carried out in accordance to EUROCODE construction standards.

The roof of the silo is a self-supporting structure made of trapezoidal segments and equipped with ladders, filler caps and skylight observation. Round silos are equipped with inspection doors and wind rings and can also be equipped with roof and floor ventilation systems, a thermostat and a fill level sensor, resting platforms, railings and walkways.

PETKUS round silos are offered as flat bottom, hopper and loading silos. Flat bottom silos are used for long term storage, and are emptied with the help of a sweep auger according to the "first in, first out" principle. Hopper silos are emptied at a hopper inclination of 45� or 60�, depending on the properties of the product. Loading for trucks or railcars can with accomplished with a drive under loading cell.

ROLL MILLS

Bauermeister's Type 250.1 and Type 250.2 roll mills are used to accurately crush brittle to medium-hard products. The Type 250.1 roll mill uses product-specific rolls and works in two crushing stages, while the Type 250.2 can work in variable capacities in up to three crushing stages, using product-specific rolls.
Bauermeister's Type 250.3 and 350.1 roll mills are for grinding brittle to medium-hard products where a narrow particle size distribution is required with a minimum amount of dust. With the Type 250.3 the continuous monitoring of the roll gap increases the quality of the crushing. The Type 350.1 roll mill is a development of the model 250.1 and is designed for high throughput.

FLAKING MILLS

Flaking mills are used in the oil seed industry to process pre-broken seeds for the downstream extraction process. Bauermeister's flaking mills ZWG 601, ZWG 703 and ZWG 800 are manufactured using a rigid welded frame. These flaking rolls have a hardness of approximately 530 HV, and the front roll is supported by double swivel-joint roller bearings in such a way that it can pivot to adjust the roll gap.

BEATER BLADE MILLS

The Bauermeister SMM beater blade mill is used to grind products with a high fat content, such as cocoa nibs and hazelnuts. High-speed rotating blades in the grinding chamber break the product down to the required particle size and the high fat content ensures conversion into a pumpable mass.
The maximum capacity of the mills is 3,000kg/hr; the actual rate depends on the type and pre-treatment of the product, as well as its inherent characteristics and the end product fineness that is required.
